How to Make a Pirate Cake

  • 1 box SuperMoist cake mix
  • Water
  • Vegegtable oil
  • Eggs
  • Tray, 15x12 inches, covered
  • 1 Cup creamy vanilla frosting
  • 1 chocolate mint patty
  • 1 yellow ring-shaped hard candy
  • 1 gum ball
  • 1 slice marshmallow
  • 1 roll fruit by the foot red chewy fruit snack
  • 1 black licorice
  • Square-shaped candy coated gum
  • small chocolate decors

Instructions

1.Pre heat oven to 350. Grease 1, 8 inch & 1, 9 inch round pan with cooking spray or shortening. Make cake per directions on cake box. Pour into pans.

2.Bake as directed on box. Cool for about 10 minutes. Remove from pans, and cool for at least an hour!

3.Using a serrated knife, cut the 9-inch cake in half and cut hat as shown here. Remaining half will form the pirate body. Cut the 8-inch cake as shown in diagram. Place cake pieces on tray. Cut the ears and nose from small pieces of cake. Attach to cake with frosting. Cover and freeze for 1 hour.

4.Save two teaspoons dark chocolate frosting. Use remaining frosting to frost hat. Mix 2/3 cup of vanilla frosting with the two teaspoons of choclate frosting. Frost head, ears and nose with tinted vanilla frosting! add mint patty as eye patch, marshmellow slice and gum ball for eye and ring candy as earring.

5.Frost body with 1/3 cup white frosting. Cut fruit snack to make shirt stripes, mouth and strap for eye patch. Add to cake.Use gum for teeth and chocolate decors as whiskers. Store at room temp.
